Fingerspelling is an important and integrated part of ASL and the letters of the alphabet help to provide a direct link to literacy.
The contents within represent the most commonly used versions of signs but ASL signs do have regional variations, so please check with your local ASL community for local usage.
Face to face contact with native sign language users is recommended as the best way to learn and the Let’s Sign resources as detailed at the back of this book are designed to support this.
Includes: Handshape Key and Fingerspelling Alphabet.
Signs for: apple, butterfly, cat, dolphin, egg, fish, giraffe, house, ice-cream, jigsaw, kangaroo, lion, mouse, noodles, orange, penguin, question, rabbit, snow, tree, umbrella,
vegetable, window, xylophone, yellow, zebra.
Have fun with the test yourself pages at the end of the book, to match words, signs and letters.
