BSL Emergency Contact Signs (Let’s Sign BSL)

Basic sign communication can be invaluable for on-the-spot  assistance – not only for Emergency Service providers but also members of the public who may be first on the scene and able to summon help and give assistance.

The printed booklet version contains 4 signs with written descriptions to a page.

The same signs are included in the Kindle version in flashcard format with one sign to a page as shown below.   The Kindle version has an option to bring thumbnail images up onto the screen allowing users to look at a selection of signs and point to the one needed to give speedy communication in an emergency.

Sign language users may also want to carry this with them – and also to register with the emergency SMS service detailed inside.

The 78 key-word/signs provide a valuable reference on-the-spot and useful learning and revision aid for signing classes.

The signs contained were selected by representatives of the Police, Fire and Ambulance Services in collaboration with the Deaf community, for Emergency Services up and down the UK.
